Firefly Guide to Self-Examination

HOW CAN A MERE MINUTE SAVE A LIFE?

It’s easy, take a minute of your day to check your tackle. It’s not unusual, girls we do it all the time! and if you find something that shouldn’t be there make the call, it ain’t a soft option, be tough, talk to your doctor, partner, mother or your mates, it’s what they are there for ... and you girls out there, bully the boys into making the change, it could save their life.

WE KNOW IT’S A PRICKLY SUBJECT BUT

CHECK YOUR TACKLE!

You should perform these steps regularly. A thorough examination may be easier after a warm bath or shower as the scrotal skin relaxes.

Most lumps found on the testicles are benign but any changes in size, shape or weight should be checked by your GP. step_1

Support the scrotum in the palm of your hand and become familiar with the size and weight of each testicle. step_2

Examine each testicle by rolling it between your fingers and thumb.  Press gently to feel for lumps, swellings, or changes in firmness.step_3

Remember each testicle has an epididymis at the top which carries  sperm to the penis. Don't panic if you feel this - it's normal.step_4
